First fuel break...we have given ourselves a full day to get to Harwich so this was the first of many stops that lasted longer than 30 minutes...
this is just routine maintenance...or so Archie says...a broken wire on the lighting coil...just a 20 minute job to get the lights working again...this is about the time he reminded me that I had had a faulty connection on an indicator bulb and we had stopped on the hard shoulder of the motorway to fix it...whatever...
we stayed at Alan Stevens' house on the Wednesday night...this is the contents of his garage...
just waiting for the local press and TV to turn up to take a few shots of us as we embark on our intrepid 35 mile journey to the ferry port...well it was 35 miles for all the locals...we (Archie, Beth, Bec and myself) had already done 200 miles...and just in case you haven't already sussed it Bec isn't a pillion she is on her own scooter...she handled the scooter with all that luggage well at motorway speeds...
a last minute adjustment to Archies luggage...
all ready and waiting...come on...let's go...
Hamburg ferry port...making sure we are all through customs a couple of German scooterists to give us an escort to the camp site...as you have no doubt noticed we have picked up a few more along the way...
this was the first thing that took my eye on entry to the camping area...it wasn't to be the last one either...
what can I say...I'm a sucker for a combo...this had lots of mods on it...mainly 9t's running gear...
nothing changes...I'm still as ugly as ever...so is Olaf...Bec's hair matches her trousers...it was as bright as that bag but it washed out a bit...
tell a lie...Bec's hair was this bright...ain't this beautiful...
this was the centre of the racecourse...the only way you could get your scooter into this area was not to display UK number plates...I kid you not...well it seemed like it...check out the pile of tyres at the front...Pirelli's for £8 anybody...I couldn't resist it...I bought a couple home with me...
