these pictures were taken in 1985...

My brother bought this GP in 1979...if I remember right it was white...he then painted it British racing green...after that he stripped it down to have another go at it...by then most of the panels were beyond saving...so into about ten boxes the salvageable bit's went...I bought what was left of it off him and decided I would do a custom scooter rather than restore it...what you see here was the culmination of a very expensive love affair...

The gold globel and candy paintwork, plus the murals were all done by Lee Chamber's...the chroming was done by FND polishing...

"The Pillow" was the title of a UB40 album track...the mural's depicted scenes from the song...

At the time the photo's were taken it was a standard GP150 (except for the paint and chrome)...this didn't stay like this for long...with the need for speed (every one else I did the rally's with had tuned scooters)...out went the 150 casings...in went a 225 Suzuki pistoned monster with a Wal Phillips fuel injector, DJ VW tailed expansion chamber and Motoplat electronic ignition...it did fly...but with speed came unreliability...I loved this scooter...it owed me thousands (even back in the 80's)...but the need to ride and not mess became a priority...out with the old and in with a Vespa...

Photographs by our kid...him with the big bike...I had to mention this...when he saw the piccy's posted he said you ain't gid me a mention...
