Sorting through piles of photo albums I came across these pictures...this beauty belongs to Wilf Goodman a retired gentleman from Hucknall in Nottinghamshire...I met Wilf at Billing Aquadrome at the "50 Years Of Vespa" bash...Wilf had a Cosa on the back of Camper that he used to get around when he arrived at places...as people with Campers do...with him were his wife and grandson...now Wilf wasn't at the 50th anniversary bash...he went to Billing most weekends to make the most of owning a Camper...so you can imagine how surprised he was to see so many Vespa's flying around...and even more surprised to see a couple with sidecars on...

On the Saturday morning Wilf came over to me...introduced himself and asked if he could have a look at the fittings for the sidecar and did I think that they would fit a Cosa...at that time I'd seen Cosa's with sidecar's but had never had a good look at the fittings but I guessed not as the Cosa had an hydraulic brake system and would need a different type of bracket...he then explained to me that they (Wilf and his wife) took their grandson away at weekends with them...and that a sidecar would be ideal for them as they could all pile aboard and tour the local areas of where ever they ended up without one of them having to stay back at the camper...

next question...how much would one of these cost???...at the time they were round about a £1000...but it just so happened that I had one lying around in my lock-up...minus the Cosa bracket...that I had bought off Max a while before...so I told him a price and gave him my phone number...Wilf phoned Squire...checked out prices and the availability of parts and rang me the following week...when he arrived at my lock-up he was amazed that the sidecar was in such good condition at the price I had told him...in his own words "I came down here to haggle a price with you but what the heck"...one happy Wilf piled the the sidecar and chassis into his camper and set off back to Nottingham...

around two months later I had a phone call from Wilf..."I've finished the sidecar...can I send you some photo's"...he did...when I saw these my eye's popped out...he did all the artwork himself...although I haven't spoken to Wilf for a while...I'm sure he's still enjoying his retirement and his Camper and Combo...
