my last rally of 2022 and I'd already made my mind up at the beginning of the year it wasn't going to be the IOW...with nothing happening on mainland Europe it was off to the island of Cumbrae just a few hundred yards off the West Coast of Scotland...
it doesn't matter that it's been raining constantly for hours the scooter is loaded and the VW's are where they should be on a "scooter" rally weekend...on the drive...and as you can see I've left the GTS' in the garage and decided to do the 314 mile journey to Millport on the trusty PX...the other reason is that the last time I was in Millport in 1998 I was on this very same scooter...
first stop for fuel...and as you can see it has finally stopped raining...it's actually still raining in the Black Country I've just got ahead of it...I got past it between J13 & J14 on the M6 and that was my lot for the day...I'm amazed that the scooter looks this clean...
really need to get a wide load banner to hang off the back...Lomo bag serves two purposes...it keeps my stuff dry and it's hard to miss even in bad weather conditions...
second stop for fuel at Lancaster services...this is the only time I missed the GTS...would have cost me a lot less in fuel...
I have to point out that gone is the black and white plate of previous years...I managed to break it putting the scooter on the stand in the garage...it hit one of my other scooters...
not many other scooters to take pictures of at the moment so for the time being lot's of pictures of my PX...
how clean are those engine cases!!..
as I'm only going as far as Gretna tonight and I'm well ahead of schedule I thought I'd stop and take in some scenery...
motorway is pretty quiet...
it wasn't like this when I joined at J10...and it was pissing down...
